Feeling Hot Hot Hot

It’s been a beautiful October week, sun shining, temps in the 70s, a perfect time to… turn on the heat? Yes, that’s right. When I arrived home from work on Monday, it felt extra stuffy in my apartment. A quick trip to the bathroom clued me in: the management had turned on the heat for the winter. Never mind that it’s hot out, it’s mid-October and that’s when they turn on the heat. Grrr. What a waste of resources. We have all the radiators turned off, except in the bathroom, where it’s jammed. Thus, the bathroom feels like a small porcelain sauna. I am not happy.

Apparently you'll need it on Friday though, it's getting colder. Agreed though. Nov. 1st is a better date...

yeah i roasted in my place yesterday. they turned ours on tuesday night.

in a possibly related story, i woke up wednesday morning itching like crazy and all allergic. one possible culprit is mold from the heating unit. another is a justification for my growing addiction to benadryl.

mold in the vents is a total bitch. i also had an addiction to benadryl at one time. i am a chronic insomniac and i used it as a sleep aid. only i developed a tolerance for it within a couple of weeks. since it's a four-hour pill, i would sleep really soundly for four hours and then i would wake up and not be able to get back to sleep. the main ingredient in benadryl is in most OTC sleep remedies (tylenol PM, sominex, etc.), so none of those work for me either. bitter.

i used to be pretty hooked on nyquil. i would go out and get drunk as hell and all blown out on grass, then come home and take nyquil and pass out. good times. how i survived my twenties is anyone's guess.
